Background:
Immediately after the tsunami World Partners received requests from a couple of partners. Within 3 months 31,000 dollars became available, enabling the construction of bigger and safer boats for the fishermen. During this relief process World Partners cooperated with other relief organisations. Via police reports, 12 families were helped to recover their belongings and find lost family members.

| In 2005 the families started fishing again and they were extremely happy with their first catch! Without fish these families would not have any income, and consequently no food. In the meantime money is being collected in collaboration with the local partner to start up new projects like this in the future. |
