LIMIT PROJECT
Location:
Lira, Oeganda

Budget:

2005 - $ 40,000 (funding complete)

2006 - $ 30,000 for 2006

Background:
WorldPartners has started this project in cooperation with the LindA project. The LindA project mainly consists of the caring for and schooling of orphans. (See www.hetlindaproject.nl) .

The project simply entails cultivating land in order to raise corn. Raising corn will generate a steady income when it is sold to the chicken-breeding farm created through Ark-Chick Hatchery. The older orphans who are at least 15 years old will also work on the land in order to learn skills to help them provide support for themselves.

There are several needs for this project, including purchasing farming equipment and building storage facilities for the corn and equipment. High-quality seed is also needed for the farm.

 PROJECT DESCRIPTION
  •  PROFIT EXPECTATION

The generated income will be dependent on attaining two harvests per year. Therefore an experienced agronomist has been hired. It is expected that the income will be sufficient after the second year in order to fully finance one orphanage.
