NEW KINDERGARTEN SAKAQLOTOQ

Part of the project Village Development in Sakaqlotoq, Indonesia, is the kindergarten which was started by World Partners in 2006. Because of the success of this school we are now working hard on a new construction for this.

As you can see in the pictures, construction of the new kindergarten is well underway. The walls will be completed in the next few months, and we hope that the building can be taken into use before the new 2010/2011 school year!

The Dayak children of Sakaqlotoq have an education gap with children in other islands of Indonesia. Their parents can often not afford education. World Partners Foundation launched a kindergarten in the house of a teacher in 2006. Now children from the village receive lessons every day. The nursery runs very good. The number of children has grown so fast that there is an urgent need for a permanent school for the quality and continuity of this project and for more activities to flourish. An architect has made the design for a new kindergarten with room for more children. In early July, on the last day of school, the first stone was laid for the new kindergarten and work on the foundation started. A small shed was built to store the building materials safely. It looks good.
