-
To make Gersom a model farm, which will stimulate local farmers to successfully raise hogs. Gersom has to deliver proof that a modern business operation is profitable and extends knowledge to the local farmers.
-
To provide employment opportunities.

The farm started with 35 sows and several dozen newborn pigs. In 2002 Gersom sent almost 700 hogs to market.
Thanks to an increase in pork prices an greater production compared to 2000, last year showed a strong increase in profitability.
As a result, Gersom was able to extend a loan to Sasha Roiko, a local enterprise, for the purchase of hogs and a barn. Technical support is being granted by Eric de Vries, Project Manager.
Part of the net profit of 2001 was used to start a vegetable farm in Novovolinsk.
